Many people believe that dreams reflect experiences in waking life.

A hypothesis known as the Continuity Hypothesis of Dreams says that dreams are a continuation of waking life. You dream about what you have been thinking about or what you have been doing in waking life. Your personality in dreams is the same as your personality in waking life.

Freud said that when you analyze a dream, you should check to for the day's residue in the dream. The day's residue consists of dream elements that reflect events that happened to the dreamer in waking life on the previous day.

28-February-2010: I had a dream that a mirror broke and one of the shards cut Marcia's (my wife) arm off. After this I seemed to have a whole series of drama-type dreams where I was angry, upset and crying. Things only got better when I went to visit Marcia in hospital and she was so sweet.

The wake up hypothesis of REM sleep was developed by W.R. Klemm of the Department of Veterinary Integrative Biosciences at Texas A&M University. Klemm explained this hypothesis in an article that was published in September 2011 in Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience.

The wake up hypothesis of REM Sleep says that REM sleep and dreams help to prepare our brains to return from deep sleep to waking consciousness.

During deep sleep, also known as Stage N3 sleep, the sleeper loses awareness of the external environment and cannot be awakened easily.

The reason we have given our readers so much information on understanding dreams and dream interpretation is because everyone is different, some methods work for some while different methods work for others.

You may for instance try a certain method of dream interpretation and feel that it just doesn't gel with your approach to life.

Writing dream diaries and dream journals, or discussing dreams with others, doesn't

The bedroom is associated with sleep and sex. A dream about a bedroom can have to do with a need to have a rest from something. It can also have sexual connotations.

Finding yourself in a bedroom in a dream can be a sign that you have been working too hard and need to relax. Your unconscious could be telling you that you need to slow down and take it easy.

Traditionally, a bedroom is considered a private sanctuary. A dream that you are in a bedroom can mean that you need to escape from the outside world for a while. You

The bathroom is the part of the house where we perform functions that are considered private and "dirty", so a bathroom in a dream can be a place for dealing with "dirty" thoughts that we do not want to reveal to others and, sometimes, even to our conscious selves.

Bathrooms are also places where we clean and groom ourselves so that we can be presentable to the outside world. Therefore, bathroom dreams can often have to do with our feelings about how others perceive us.

Of all the rooms in the house, the kitchen is the one that is most associated with motherhood. As soon as a child is born, it associates its mother with physical nourishment. Traditionally, the kitchen is the place where the mother makes food for her child.

A dream that takes place in a kitchen often reveals something about how you have been nurtured, both physically and emotionally, and about how well you have developed feelings of security and self-worth. Is the kitchen in your dream a place of safety and comfort, where you can enjoy the smell of a delicious meal

Hall's early studies used anonymous dream reports that were provided to him by his students. Later on, he studied dream reports given to him by people of all ages, from all over the world. By the time he died, he had studied more than 50,000 dream reports.

Gestalt therapy focuses on what is happening and what is being felt in the present, rather than on what was or what could be, or on explanations and interpretations. In Gestalt therapy, the relationship between the self and the outside world is very important.

Perls thought that people often have fragmented personalities. Working with your dreams can help you to integrate the opposing aspects of your personality. This will eliminate
