I certanly wouldn't think that other people's dreams have a reflection on you, but would suggest that the dreams are concerning themselves. Often other people in dreams don't necessarily represent the people themselves, but rather different aspects of your self that your brain sees as similar to the person in the dream.

Rather than just creating a bunch of disembodied voices in your head, your subconscious, dreaming mind, will use images of people you know to speak to you - sometimes using a particular person for a particular affect, depending on your perception of that person's personality in waking life.

I can't help thinking as I write that the above might sound like total gibberish, but I hope it makes sense.
