Here in America, Christianity has become politicized. For a politician to say they are secularist, or (god forbid) an atheist, that's pretty much the end of their career in national politics. Only one congressman has admitted to having "no god belief" and he's from a rather liberal county in California.

It is written in our constitution that congress shall pass no law establishing a religion, yet we have members of congress today passing resolutions for "National Prayer Day" and Recognizing the Importance of Christmas among others. The latter one is in retaliation of the Christian right's assertion that secularists want to destroy the holiday ("the war on Christmas").

The big news in this country right now is the republican candidate's choice for running mate named Sarah Palin. She grew up in a Pentecostal denomination called The Assemblies of God. For a taste of what she's all about, get a load of this:
