I saw a bunch of little bats flying around the park today when I was walking home. Thought it would be cool to catch one and maybe release it in a movie theater or something lol. Problem is I don't know how to catch one. I had one idea but it seems like it would be unreliable. My method would be to have a box with a bright light in it. The bright light would attract mosquitos and flies which, in turn would attract bats. Once a bat has flown into the box you would pull a string and the door on the box would snap shut. The reason I don't think this would work that often is that there's alot of street lights throuhgout the park that attract flies of their own. So the bat would probably go to those rather than fly into a box.
Anyone here have any ideas? And don't worry I was only kidding about the movie theater thing lol.

It's against the law to catch, or even interfere, with bats in the UK; I don't think it's something I'd want to do anyway, they're a bit too cute and intelligent and I like them too much.

P.S. I think there's also a danger of catching rabies from some bats too.

I thought the UK was rabies-free. Isn't that why they quarantine cats and dogs from abroad?

I saw on Malcolm in the Middle how to catch a bat. They got it to chase one of them and trapped it with silly string. The problem is it might kill it instead.
