Hey, do any of you guys have asthma or know somebody with asthma?

Because I've been having trouble breathing lately, so I went to the doctor and he prescribed me 3 different meds, amoxecillan (spelling?), some cough medicine (I was coughing alot) and an inhalor......

But he didn't tell me what was wrong with me.

Can any of you please tell me the signs/symptoms of asthma?
And can you develop it at any time?
