The heat, don’t want to say it’s unbearable; what in hell does that mean? I’d be dead if it were. Its cloying tendrils are everywhere; sometimes like scolding blankets, other times like microscopic glowing pokers to every nerve ending. Water, water, why are you deserting me; can I survive this?

This is quite bizarre, I just posted what I did last night on the TP website and thought, hmm that looks about the size of one of those little stories; so I counted it and it's exactly 50 words! Spooky

here it is:
Erm, What I Did Last Night by Jonathan Malory

It had been really hot here all week, until last night. I went to the local pub with a couple of friends and we sat outside in the garden. A terrific summer storm came along with proper industrial size rain and everything; great sheets of lightning lit the sky, fantastic!

My first attempt, written fairly quickly and without much idea of what it would be about. My first draft, I mean my first draft before I hit the delete key, came in at over 100 words. Because of this I had to make a few cuts, alter the story to get it under 51.

David Smith, he had no friends, nobody wanted to be with him. They called him boring, dumbass and four eyes…his workmates were so mean and nasty. But David had something they didn’t have, a colt 45. They screamed and they begged for mercy; “Who’s four eyes now!?” said David.

That's an idea, perhaps I could pen the idea to movie execs!?
