Has anyone heard about the dropa stones? I have always been very interested in the topic. Perhaps some of you would like to read about this intreguing race of people.

It's an interesting topic; it's a pity there's no sign of a spaceship though with this or any other ancient alien theory thing, they always seem to write stuff on bits of rock, though this article does mention that the stones may have had electricity in them at some point - I'd love to see a documentary on how they could have landed here, with complete theories of what happened to all their stuff; high tech materials and such. It's an interesting idea for a work of fiction too; a bit like a book I have called The Flying Sorcerer about a guy getting marooned an a primitive world that believes in magic and witch doctors who, ironically, manage to foil his technology with their magic spells, mainly by daubing mud all over his computers and fouling them up.

I bet Om Kranti is into this; if she doesn't know about them already.

I'd have to do more research on this, but usually when someone claims that an important scientific discovery has been "ridiculed by the established scientific (in this case archeological) community" or that the establishment "refused to publish the work," it's a sign of a hoax. Science doesn't work like that. News of important scientific discoveries spreads throughout the world very quickly, with scientists from all over the world attempting to research the phenomenon themselves and see if they come to the same conclusions.

Even if the message was a hoax it would be amazing to be able to read the decyphered message of an ancient people. What these heiroglyphics could possibly be saying is interesting no matter what the topic. It would be one of the oldest texts yet discovered.

It sort of reminds me of a tirllogy of books called "Ringworld" in which a massive artifical planet was created where civilization could start from the beginning again and all these "secrets" of human development were discovered.
