Why do we get habits like mine which is saying Lies lol

I think habits usually begin as something we like doing, then we like them so much that we find ourselves doing them all the time; though not all habits are things we like doing as such, sometimes they are more like routines that make us feel secure, secure in the knowledge that we can control some areas of our lives to make them feel ordered.
