just had my first taste of the single player game, haven't downloaded the mods/patches yet; it looks great! Some games you can tell they are going to be good straight away, this is one of those. I have learnt something already, for me anyway: don't get in a tank! :rwb:

P.S. Prom/Pippa/Yaesu, what do I need to download to be up to spec?

If u go to the BW ftp and download the latest patch from there, u need the 1.3, that will bring u up to date for bf1942.
If u wish to play Desert Combat you will need to download the 0.35n patch which is also on BW ftp

Thanks, just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. I'm downloading desertcombat 01.35fullinstall.exe at the moment... still getting to grips with the single player game, though it seems quite easy to get in to. :burnout:

Should think so, I have the dessertcombat thing now; took fecking ages, about 8 hrs with adsl! Just need the latest patch which is much smaller thank God, and the skills to not make too bigger fool of my self; don't say it... :smiler:

I was playing on Jumpysworld or something. one of the BW servers. Which one do you guys play on? Will you be playing tonight?

Hi Mal, i very rarely play on the BW DC server. I usually play on either 'xlbox' (UK server), any of the 'NWO' servers (USA), sometimes 'FL' and '{MCB}'.

The server i play on will depend which map is currently playing as im very much into heli flying. El Alamein, Gazala and Bocage are my faves as they are fairly large maps and good to fly the heli on. As far as teams go, i play 'Opposition' as they have the Hind assault heli, which i prefer over the Apache, as it handles alot better and can be thrown about far easier. Player class is 'Support' as it allows me to repair the heli if it gets damaged, this being whether i am flying or gunner, also i can heal myself and other team members if required.

If you want to join us one evening, maybe even tonight, then just let me know and i'll give you the server name or IP, depends on whether i can remember the name or not, it's an age thing :/

Lowering the tone is an art form in itself. It is not something that everyone can do but i have it down to a fine art.

If u get msn messenger and we put each other on our contact lists, might make it easier to communicate when passing IP's around for the game ?
That way we can see when each other is online.....u get my drift
