My husband of 31 years has been dead for six years . He died of cancer. I have been having recurring dreams where he has another girl friend, or he tells me he doesn,t love me or he will not show up for a date. These dreams just about tear my heart out because we were so close. Can you tell me what they mean and how to stop having them.

I think that part of you is still angry at your husband for "betraying" you by dying, and you are unconscious is symbolizing that as his betraying your marriage - cheating on you or saying that he doesn't love you. (The "other girlfriend" = cancer or death.)

Have you been having these dreams since he died, or have you only been having them recently, in which case, has something been happening in your life that may have been triggering unconscious thougts about him?
