Hi, I'm new here. I joined because I saw the dream interpretation stuff. When I was I believe 10 or 11 years old, I had my first and only "girlfriend," if you could call it that at that age. I believe she was a grade younger than me. I ended up pretty much dumping her because my friends made fun of me for her being younger. I felt guilty because I still liked her.

Whatever, kid stuff. The thing that's been bugging me is, for years she's been in my dreams.



She doesn't really say anything, but it's like she's haunting me or something. The whole dream I feel really sad and guilty. She doesn't talk, she's just... there. So why am I dreaming about her? How do I make her go away? It's been happening for years! By the way, I am twenty years old.

Ok, so you say that you ended a relationship with this girl and felt guilt over it ten years ago, it could be that she is showing up in your dreams because of this guilt as a reminder of the possible pain you caused, but I don't think that is likely. For you to have held onto that for so many years would be a stretch to say the least.
It is more likely that she represents some kind of current guilt in your life. You might be associating her with guilt now because she is an early symbol of regret or pain in your life. Is there anything you feel guilty for right now? Maybe remorse of a more recent relationship that didn't work out and this girl is your subconscious manifesting a romantic regret. Maybe if you think about some of your romantic regret and try to forgive yourself for it, the girl will leave your dreams.

I can't think of much that I feel guilty right now. I know one relationship almost happened when I was around 14 with another girl but didn't happen due to many factors, one of which me being almost a stalker. I now detest this girl. Thanks for the advice. What sort of romantic regret should I think about?

Maybe she isn't so much representing regret of a failed romantic relationship, but of a failed opportunity.. If you say that you now have negative feelings towards the girl you knew when you were fourteen then maybe she doesn't exist as a hopeful opportunity in you mind anymore, but as something that never would have worked. But the girl you knew when you were ten was a relationship that was ended on terms that weren't exactly your own. So maybe you see her as the relationship that could have been but wasn't (maybe you don't realistically think this because it was such an early relationship but she could have stuck in your mind this way). And now she shows up in your dreams, simply standing in the background representing the thought of "what if.." that is always in the background of all of our minds.

I'm not sure, just something to think about!

Thanks again. Another thing I forgot to mention is that she's always somewhere up high and she's usually with my sister for some reason. A lot of the time she tries to convince me she's someone else but it's obviously her. How do I make her go away?

Why do you want her to go away? Maybe you can try talking to her in your dream to ask what she wants.

Because she's a little girl I don't know anymore from a very long time ago. I don't want to dream about random little girls. I try talking to her in the dream and she avoids me.

I agree with MrTulips that she could represent something you are feeling guilty about now.
