I continue to have this dream about a church in the middle of a lake or a river over the last two weeks. It is a very vivid dream and I can generally fall back asleep/go back to the dream even though circustances do change. The dream has a lot of evil to it but also keeps going back to decisions to do write or wrong. This dream is starting to freak me out because I can wake up 4-6 times a night and go right back to this dream. Sometimes the dream is just damn scary and wake up with my heart beating extremely fast. There are two statues/ figurines/ or some type of chair with some type of spear on each. When the statues/ figurines are moved in the right position some sort of portal/room opens up. Lots of bad things happen behind the church and I always am in the lake/river in front of the church during some part of the dream either saving someone or being saved by other people by some evil person/thing/event. I am on xanax but have been for some time now. I have weird, weird dreams almost every night and usually start waking up from the dreams around 3:30-4:00am (usually go to bed around 10:30-11:00). I usually wake up in a semi panic but go back to sleep thinking about the dream and usually go back to that dream. But the last couple weeks this church dream will not go away. It is weird enough that I actually searched for a dreams web site to post this thread. While I have always thought dreams would be something interesting to study and if I won a lottery one of my "charities" would be to the research of dreams, I never thought I would be on a message board because of all the weirdos you usually find on message boards. But this has me so WOWED I had to post.

The meaning of the church will be related to how you feel about religion in waking life. Does the church itself feel evil or bad, or do you see it as an island of safety? If it makes you feel bad, you could be feeling guilty about something.

The statues could represent feeling immobilised or powerless in a situation.
