Dreaming Message Board

Hello...I would like to first say that this site is incredibly interesting to me, and I found the section of Lucid Dreams, Astral Projection and OBE's very enlightening. I didn't know what to call the dreams I've been having until today. I would like to share a dream I had the other night with you, and see if you could possible tell me what this is.

I was laying in my bed, asleep, when I suddenly got cold, in reality and in this "dream"...I told myself to turn my airconditioner off, and was trying desperately to pull myself out of bed to do it. I sleep in the nude, which despite the fact that that seems irrelevant, it's not. Anyway, I have a little window about the size of a persons head in my big door leading outside. I finally forced myself out of the bed, in my dream I suppose, and on the way to turn the AC off, I got distracted by the window. I was looking out of the window, terrified at what it was that was out there, but I never really saw it. I just couldn't pry my eyes off of it for the longest time, until finally, I looked back at my bed, and there I was. Asleep, eyes closed and all...with the covers up to my neck. And then, suddenly, it was like my point of view switched, and I was watching myself from my bed, standing at the door, completely nude, staring back at myself. I noticed details about my backside, like the two little indents above a persons butt. Except, my sleeping self's eyes never opened.

My aunt interprets dreams rather well, in a spiritual sense, and she thought that it meant something. Liek God sent it to me as a warning,but the more I think about it, the more it strikes me as an outter body experience. I have no one in my life that knows anything about these things (astral projection, etc) so I can't talk to anyone about this stuff without them thinking I'm crazy. Though, I've always believed this kind of thing and the only way I know anything about it isbecause I read a book when in 7th grade, by Lois Duncan. I can't remember what it was called...but it interested me greatly in this topic. ANyone have any thoughts?

This also sounds to me like an out of body experience. I think the reason that you were frightened of what was outside the window was that it was a new experience, and your mind was afraid of what was going on because it didn't really know what was happening. Just a natural fear of the unknown that everyone has.

Through all of my analyzation of this dream, I didn't even think about that...but I think you're absolutely right...because what was outside wasn't a specific thing, it was just like a void...I dunno, that's cool, thanks fer yer help.
