I'm among a group of people outdoors in a feild. It is a gathering of some kind. A picnic perhaps. I'm sitting under a canope to avoid the hot sun. Suddenly, a strong wind comes up and the canope blows upward and folds over. A woman hands me a big umbrella, like the ones on tables for shade. I hold onto it as long as I can but that too blows away. It gets stuck at the corner of a building that I'm sitting near and I observe the striped colors on it and it reminds me of a circus tent.

Later, I'm walking along a road and heading to a gathering which is a class of some sort. I notice the birds flying overhead and I'm awed by their beauty even though they are only crows. The crows feathers are very detailed, downy in appearance with red highlights. Then a kite sized crow is straight ahead, gliding as it's downy feathers are spread out and the sun streaks the blue sky and shines on the red highlights. I stand and watch this for a while and then move on.

I end up at the house and in this house is a pool of water in the middle of the room. Floating in the water appears to be a pearl as a young male evangelist discusses what we can do about global warming. I'm impressed with his concern. I then arrange boxes wrapped in colorful shiny paper in bigger boxes. The boxes all contain plans in different categories for combating global warming. The boxes are various sizes and don't all fit neatly into the bigger boxes which are used as storage units. I arrange them as best as I can.

You've made me realise something odd about my dreams considering current events, I don't think I've had a single dream ever about global warming.

Did you pick up on the idea of things being blown away and flying free, the concept of freedom in general represented by the birds and how you admired them? Even a simple crow is able to fly free from its situations. I also like the idea of the circus tent, as if you feel an element of fun in your life is drifting away and you can't stop it - but it does get snagged on the building as if you are wishing there's some hope of getting it back.

Those are my first impressions anyway.

The wind in the first part of the dream feels like a storm related to climate change. The umbrella and circus tent represent those things that cannot withstand these changes. Circuses represent things unreal and freaky. I often look at the state of the world and it feels that way to me---unreal and freaky. Despostism and wars abound everywhere. Countries being run by circus clowns while the global climate may be the end to it all.

So, to answer one part of your question, circus images in dreams are not fun for me.

As for the birds, it's interesting I would see crows. Crows are usually depicted in horror fiction as a symbol of a bad omen. Yet, I didn't get that impression from them this time. It's like they were "above it all." Man, don't I wish that could be me sometimes!

Their feathers could be related to a biology assignment my student was working on. The topic was birds and we discussed the different types of feathers---contour and down.
