Good Point but I have yet another one for you

I'm gonna need a strait jacket soon..this dream stuff is bothering me

Its like I have all of this puzzle with no pieces

I had another dream/lucid dream

So last night I'm dreaming about my boyfriend &/or New Orleans..nothing memorable..just random good feelings..some goofiness

Then this loud VOICE cuts in..like friggin Barbara Walters & says "Please remember to bring your son to church" or "Don't forget to bring your son to church"...something like that

And I had a real thought..I was like "Son..oh gawd..what son?"..and then it all faded & I went back to my regularly scheduled dream world :P

This was not the voice of ANYONE that I've ever known past or present..it was a beautiful voice though & it all happened so fast that I almost forgot about it until I got into a discussion with someone about dreams

So of course I'm wondering what this means..#1..I don't have a son..I don't even have a pet! #2..I don't go to church..I despise church

Its just not my thing..I'm definitely spiritual but not into organized religion so anytime my aunt (its always her) tries to get me to go..I try to fake a cramp..headache..seizure..anything!

I'm so good with messages in relation to Other people but not so much myself...GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Does anyone have any comments..suggestions about my sordid dreams?

I think you may be trying to take the images too literally; it helps to keep in mind that your unconscious mind doesn't know what a church is, or a son/baby etc, or even what New Orleans is... it deals only in emotional images and tries to match up the feelings you may have for these images it sends you and what it (your unconscious) is trying to say. The subconscious isn't an all-knowing perfection of spiritual knowledge and will often get the wrong image matched up with the wrong feeling, but it will usually be something pretty close... if you don't manage to interpret the message (if there is one) your subconscious mind will try using other images that evoke similar emotions in you until you reach some kind of epiphany or new awareness in your life.

I pretty much agree with Maljonic. You can't take dreams literally. The images and words in your dreams are a mixed up reinterpretation of things you have thought about and experienced in waking life. The words "son" and "church" could stand for other things in your life. Maybe you could try free association, relax, clear your mind as best as you can, then write down a word in your dream, "church" for example, then write a list of all the other words it brings to mind.

Free association sounds like a very good idea.
