last night i had this very strange dream. i was out hangin out with one of my friends who are girls, we were eating or something, i didnt recognize the place but it was a bright sunny day out, when im awake and walking im always looking around so im aware of the situation. same with this dream, i was looking around as we were walking and i noticed a guy inside the restaurant building waving a gun around and yelling. so i yelled to my friend "come on, take cover" as i started running, i got behind a army lookin humvee, like the ones in mash(dont know why it was there) and looked back and she was still standing there and the guy that was in the building was now out and had gun pointed to her head. i was so worried, i actually felt the worry in my stomach, similar to when people are nervous type of feeling. i knew there was nothing i could do and i stayed hidden, then it kinda fast forwarded because i dont remember what happened but all of a sudden i was looking around for her and as she walked around the corner and we saw each other, we both ran up and gave each other a long hug, i was so glad she was safe i didnt want to ever let her go. after that i woke up, im confused about all this because i dont think we are really that close. anybody have any advice as to what any of this might mean? or if it was just a plain dream and means nothing? any help would be appreciated.

I noticed the war imagery, the humvee for example. Here in the U.S., we hear stories on the news about Iraq every day. My own nephew is there now.

Do you think about Iraq and/or war often? Do you live in an area riddled with violence involving gangs and drugs? The impression I get from the dream is violence invading an ordinary everyday situation and your concern of how you would react under fire.

A more personal approach would be feeling "under fire" from friends pulling you in different directions and questioning your judgement about the way you interact in your relationships.

i dont think its iraq so much, those war stories and such never concerned me to much(still being a teenager and all) but i have been playing a lot of rainbow six vegas lately if youve heard of that, so i was thinking that maybe brought on the whole hostage situation. i live in a very good neighborhood, although it is very slowly gettin worse thanks to some new neighbors. would my friend being in it have anything to do with it at all? perhaps showin me a situation that i may have to deal with? sorry for all the questions :]

It sounds like the video games are intruding into your dreams. The fact that you mention your friend being in it could very well have something to do with your friend. Has there been a recent situation with your frined that you were not able to handle, such as a conflict with other neighborhood kids or family members?

nope. zero conflict, we went to a movie and then hung out for awhile afterwords, but thats it
