Hi, I'm new to this site. But, I have been having the same dream on and off for about 4 years now. It use to not bother me too much, but lately I have had it much more frequently than ever.

Here's my back ground:
I'm 23, my father committed suicide when I was 15. I moved out of my mom's house about 2 months ago.

Now the dream:
I keep dreaming that my father is alive. I am about 17, my brothers (who are both younger than me) are their current ages and my boyfriend is with me and we all apparently live at the house with my mother. My father never will leave the house and I never see his face. If he comes out of the bedroom that he and my mother shared, he is always covered up by a blue fleece blanket. Time always skips and I am in the front yard of our house and his truck (which I haven't seen in 8 years) is sitting in the grass and it is as if that is not a big deal at all. I usually get upset that he just stays in the house, but not too upset. My brothers and mom never see him. Just me. Once, there was a slight alteration...I talked to him and told him I bought a house and asked if he wanted to come over and he did not answer.

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? I have been trying to decipher this one for a while now and it just isn't working.

Oh, and another time I dreamt that my family was on vacation at the beach and we ran into him but again, he didn't talk.

It seems to me that you want to talk to your father but you know that you will not get a response back from him.....kinda like prayer.....you talk to God but you don't hear a direct response. I am assuming that he is stuck in your house because that is where you remember him. Do you feel like there is something that you want to tell your father? If that is the case....it is really therapeutic to write a letter to him. You could even put the letter inside a balloon and let it go. Just a thought....it might help.
