Default meeting yourself...

has anyone ever done that in a dream, and does anyone have any ideas what may be behind that?

It's happened to me on a couple of occasions now. The last one was very weired in that it happened in my own home, and I remember looking at the guy in my lounge, stood face to face. It was like looking in a mirror as we were even dressed the same. However, despite there being no real perceived emotions at this meeting, I (the real me) took hold of the other guy by the shirt collar in a none too pleasant way...things fade out after that...

and just for amusement, that took place in a dream within a dream. Talk about waking up confused....

Had you done something in which you feel angry with yourself?

well I guess I've only done the usual things in life that some call mistakes, others call learning...nothing specific comes to mind here...

The first time this happened I passed 'me' on the other side of an escalator, travelling in opposite directions. That instance was more puzzling and amusing than anything else, but the last one was quite scary as I did not understand it.

Someone suggested to me that meeting yourself in a dream was generally seen as a bad thing which is a concern. For sure I have lots of stuff on my mind just now but who doesn't?

I think one point that got to me was that by and large I don't recall my dreams, but when I do they are very real and weird....and this one was one of the weirdest..

Default seeing yourself in dream

I've done this, more recently than ever before. I don't know what it means either. But I do know that I have a very strong feeling that this person looks like me - but they aren't me. I have a suspicion that it is a sign you are trying to reaffirm your self-identity. In the dream the other person looks exactly like you - but doesn't act like you - ISN'T you -- you are the one looking at them, having the thoughts you have. So maybe it means you are the only one who knows what makes up YOU - and it isn't the reflection the entire world sees, it is in the actions and thoughts unique to yourself.

Also wanted to note that often in dreams I seem to be myself, but at another time in my life - or perhaps even the 'me that could have been.' But I begin to realize that it is not real - and feel a sort of 'peel' mentally between the thinking that was congruent with the situation (being in my apartment five years ago) and how I would react now, being the me I have become.

I see myself in the mirror or see another version of myself walk in, and I begin to ask myself where are the things from reality, where is my daughter, my husband, my dog? Why does everything here look like five years ago, I never moved into this apartment although I did consider it etc...

Sometimes another 'me' walks in they seem not to notice the real me at first, and as I start to demand that the dream stop being 'unreal' they see me and the universe seems to fall apart like some bad sci-fi movie, or the me in the mirror begins to move without me moving/ come through a mirror and become real etc... and again as I am trying to understand the incongruency the environment begins to disintegrate, melt etc...

Those are the dreams I really worry about. When I become firmly aware that it is a dream and not reality the destruction start to happen. I often wake up with my heart racing as if something awful had just happened.
