In the first part of the dream, I'm walking with a student from the high school I work at. He is delivering a huge jug of hand sanitizer to a woman who lives in a house at the end of a road where I grew up. I'm carrying several small bottles that are empty. We arrive at the house and she invites us in. She offers to cook us supper. I decline and so does the student. We leave and I ask him if he wants to stop at the snack bar across the road and he says he just wants to go home instead. I'm puzzled by this because typically the student would rather go to the snack shack in reality.

The second part of the dream is a bit foggy, but what I remember is this: I'm in a two story house. I'm a guest here and I'm staying with a family who tell me that I have been invited upstairs to dinner with a family who are prominent in the community and related to the Kennedy's.

I take a shower and wash my hair and come out and head upstairs when I realize I forgot to brush my teeth. I'm thinking I need to scrub the pot roast out from between my teeth (but I don't recall eating roast in the dream). I go back downstairs and for some reason I take another shower and shampoo. I do this quickly because I don't want to be late. Then I try to find a place to brush my teeth when I wake up.

There's a lot of cleansing involved in your dream. It seems as though, in your dream, you aren't able to be as clean as you want to be - the guy you are with has loads of cleaner and you only have small, empty bottles of the stuff.

I think when people do wash, have showers or baths etc, it is said to represent removing old ideas, ways of thinking or troublesome emotions - so maybe your dream reflects that you are finding it difficult to do that, what do you think?

Interesting. I didn't even make the cleansing connection. How did I miss that? Resistance maybe. I'll have to reflect on that one.
