Hello, I'd like to start off by first saying thanks for any help I receive

Anyways, a friend of mine (who is too shy to ask for help themself) has been having reoccurring dreams ever since her father passed away. As far as I am told the dream remains the same besides her clothes changing to what she was wearing that day.

Basically, her father gets buried and it's a military funeral so it is very proper, this happens around 10am. She gets home and it's suddenly bed time. Then she is dreaming inside of her dream that she buried her father alive, and that he suffocates and dies in the coffin. Then he comes back as some sort of demon and crawls fast forward from the cemetery a la Ring style. When he gets to her door is when she wakes up (usually crying).

I have tried to help her with this myself, but I am by no means an expert with dreams.

I've had scary dreams like that about deceased relatives. I'm not sure why this is a common occurance, but I think the dreams stem from our own fear of death and force us to face our own mortality. Age doesn't seem to matter. After my grandmother died, I had some horrible dreams like you describe. I was about 18 at the time and in good health. It's just a shock to the system when someone close to you in no longer there.

I think the part where he comes back as a demon is a manifestation of the grief and fear of death.
