In this dream I had a baby with my boyfriend of 4 years (I do not have a baby in waking life) and I ended up giving him the same name as my nephew. The baby was beautiful and I can still recall his face. He had jet black hair and was quite small and very fragile. He never cried. The odd part was that I carried him around in a blue backpack but he loved being in the bag. He fell asleep whenever placed inside it. I had a very strong love and liking for the baby and I always showed him off whenever I could. There were parts of the dream where I breast fed him and felt extreme pain afterward.

I suddenly wound up in Japan on a vacation with my mother, father and baby. My boyfriend had to stay in America because he was working (In real life my dad suggested we plan a trip to Italy). I made a comment of how beautiful Japan was despite hearing another girl say it wasn't too great in waking life. Next, I was walking next to a body of water that was in front of huge, elaborate architecture- a city scape I guess. In the water were about twenty red and black buoys rocking back and forth in the water pretty roughly. After viewing the water, I ended up in a hotel room and I had a pamphlet on tourism in Japan. I got on the phone with my boyfriend and he yelled at me for taking the pamphlet from a person. He said the person would think I liked him since their phone number was on the pamphlet. The last scene I remember is going back into my hotel room to get my purse while there was a man cleaning the room. He didn't say anything to me. It was actually a little creepy.

What great imagery!

Babies often represent new beginnings or new ventures. And seeing how in the dream you were planning and going on a trip, the baby is part of that (new) planning and venture.

A couple of noteworthy things---the part where it was painful after breastfeeding, and the choppy water with the buoys in it. It could represent painful memories coming to the surface--perhaps something to do with your infancy.
