I had a dream that went like this:

My cell phone rang and it was my boyfriend (that died 4/24/09) and he told me that it was all a joke. Good makeup.

Can anyone help me on this????

I'm very sorry for your loss.

You had your dream because your unconscious mind doesn't understand or hasn't accepted the fact that your boyfriend has died. Even though consciously, when you are awake, you know that he is dead, there are parts of your mind that don't believe it or don't want to believe it or don't really understand the concept of death. However, you went to his funeral or you experienced something in waking life that proved to you that he is dead, so your dreaming mind is trying to make up an explanation for it.

This is a normal reaction to the loss of someone close to you.

Your loss was very recent and denial is one of the earlier stages of grief.

My father died in 2006 and I have recurring dreams where he is still around and in the dreams he died in the past, as he did in waking life, but somehow he came back to life when he was in the coffin or just before he was put in the coffin.
