Hello, I'm new to the forum. I have a question about a reoccuring dream, or really nightmare that I have frequently. A little background about myself is that I am the mom of 4 boys and these dreams started shortly after I found out I was pregnant with my second.

They don't always have the same circumstances but the theme is generally the same everytime. The very first time I had it, It was that my oldest son(then about 12 months old) fell off the railing of a pier and I jumped in after him and woke up very suddenly, I don't know if he/we died or not... It has also been where I was driving my van and drove off a bridge into the water and always am trying to get all my kids out of the van and save their lives etc, again waking up before I know if we make it or not. Most recently it has just been my middle 2 sons and it starts off that we are in the swimming pool at the YMCA and then for some reason we all go under the water and I am fighting to get my kids and myself to the surface, again waking before we made it or not. Any ideas about what this could mean??? I have had some version of this dream I'd say probably at least 30-40 times. Thanks in advance for your help.

It seems to me that these dreams show that you are concerned about your boys and are feeling very protective of them. Other than the first time, did you have these dreams at any particular times when you might be worried about one of your children?

For example, with the first dream, when you were pregnant, you might have been concerned that the older child would feel jealous and left out and you might have been worried about how he would react to the new baby.

I can't say for sure about a lot of the times that I have had it, but not really for the last time I had it. At least not for the 2 that were in it. My youngest is mentally and physically disabled though, has a much shorter life span and what generally takes kids lives with what he has is pneumonia and we had a scare about 2 weeks ago with him, thinking he had pneumonia and I've not been handling that well, even though he only had a respiratory infection and was only in the hospital for about 14 hours. He is doing fine now too. And I had this last dream Tuesday night. I have been very stressed out for the past couple of weeks though not only about my little guy but about a number of other things too. I've always wondered what this ment though. Thanks so much.
