Default Coin

So, I had a dream last night where someone handed me a coin. It was small and I didn't recognize it as any kind of American currency. So for some reason I decided that it must be a wheat penny and I told the person who gave it to me that that's what it was. But the person showed me that it had a woman's profile on it and it was silver (Wheat pennies are copper I think). The dream ended.

The weird thing is I went to hang out with a friend today ,and he asked me if I would go with him to take this jar of change he had apparently been saving to a Coin Star machine. So after you pour the jar through the machine you're suppose to check this little trap at the bottom for any rejected coins. He pulled out a Canadian dime and gave it to me. I looked at it and it had a picture of Queen Elizabeth on one side and sail boats on the other.

Pretty weird, right?

Money in a dream can represent something that is valuable to you. Wheat might represent growth and nourishment.

Regarding the coincidence, I don't know how unusual it would be for you to come upon a Canadian coin in a Coinstar machine, considering the number of coins in the machine. I'm originally from New York and I've often found Canadian coins mixed in with regular ones.

Your dream can easily relate with the expression, “a penny for your thoughts” – especially as you did think of the coin as a wheat penny.

Money in any form will represent mental power and the value that can be placed upon one’s thoughts. There is an aspect of yourself emotionally (the someone) that is giving you the idea that there is value in your thoughts or ideas. However, by assuming that this is a wheat penny, you may be concluding that your thoughts carry the value of the wheat penny. Since originally this coin had a value of one cent, this can imply very little value.

But what you have really given yourself is a silver coin with a woman’s profile on it. The silver can mean that the value of your thoughts and ideas may not be of the highest quality (as would be a coin of gold). The female profile can suggest that when taken at face value or based on outward appearances, your thinking may come across as very feminine or emotional in nature. The silver coin is obviously a foreign coin which cannot be used in the USA. While this foreign coin would imply that your thoughts and thinking have more value than just a penny (as the silver coin is worth 10 cents) they are still the wrong ideas to be using in your country or in the subject area you are at home in. Note how your experience in reality confirms this. You were given a foreign coin with the Queen head on it. In the Queen’s land – in a feminine subject area -the thinking it represents does have value but only ten cents worth.

Your assumption of a wheat penny is most interesting. While the majority are now worth ten cents or less some can be exceedingly valuable because they carry the initials of its designer who was a male. Also this coin had Lincoln’s face on one side – again a male. The wheat stalks on the other side can suggest ideas that are like staples but designed by male logic rather than female emotional thinking. The wheat penny can suggest that thoughts which convey logical thinking can be very valuable.

I like your interpretation ElizVanZee. Something it made me think of is that wheat itself can be a feminine symbol (symbol of nature and nourishment) but it can also be seen as a phallic symbol (masculine) because of the shape of the wheat stalks.
