Folks,

Here is another dream to interpret.

In this dream, I am part of a big family like the
Druds in the books by Simon R. Green. The family
is more powerful then me by myself.

I am guarding the fountain outside the family home.
It is very large and there is a torrent in the middle
where the water goes after coming down from the spray.

Suddenly two things show up to attack the family.
The first is a crab type creature and the second is
more of a lobster. The both have large claws that
can cause pain and suffering. My job is to make
them go away. But the lobster thing gets past my
best defense and heads to the matriarch of the family.
I can still see in my minds eye the tail of the lobster,
black with white spots, as it passes by the fountain
and heads up to the house.

I wake up with a start.

My life situation allows me to understand most of
this dream except for the crab like creatures. Why
do these symbols show up? Are they a reference
to my feelings about my family?

Crabs and lobsters can represent things that are clinging to you in a painful way. Could you feel that people are making too many demands on you?

It is true that I have lots of obligations that prevent me from taking weekends off or vacations. Its possible that the attack is a painful symbol that my family responsibilities are overwhelming at times. I will look for similar symbols in my other dreams.
