"Grace" at the trailhead?
I've just begun to become interested in dreams, and decided to venture joining this site and sharing dreams. Last night I had this dream, and would enjoy input if anyone has it to give.....and thanks if so! I look forward to learning from this site.
I was on a mountain, confronting an almost vertically steep road...after much consideration - it was obvious that once down there would be no coming back up - I went down it. I ended on a plateau with a magnificent view of the ocean, high up. There was someone else there, a woman, and we briefly conversed; she told me we would have to leave our cars there, and that they would be ok, they'd get taken somewhere we could pick them up in the future. To proceed we had to slide down another narrow chute, without cars or luggage. I took out a backpack I was fretting about (it seemed to have replaced my black purse), and the woman went down the shute, which was reassuring, and then so did I.
I found myself at a trailhead that seemed to go around a mountain. It was narrow, but with a great view. I watched the woman go on. I continued to fuss about my backpack (did I bring everything? Where did my purse go?). There seemed to be others with me, jabbering about the contents of the pack, which I finally decided I needed to just stop worrying about. I put it on my back, found I had a walking stick, and confronted the path ahead.
What was strange was that somewhere in there the "I" of the dreamer ceased to be me (a woman) and was instead a man called "Shane"! I don't know whether becoming a man is important, or just the name itself, but I think what mattered was the name. I looked up "Shane" thinking it was a Celtic name that meant leader or king ("the shane"). I find instead it is a biblical name, given an Irish pronunciation, that means "God is gracious" or simply "Grace".
