I'm a 33 year old woman. My father and I were close when i was growing up.I just had a dream that I was out somewhere with him and we were riding in his car. I forget where we were at first but my dad left wherever we were and went to Ross without telling me.I followed him there then spent a long time trying to decide whether or not to buy a $5.99 pair of shorts. the shorts were labeled with a lot of details they even had a tag on them that showed the cost of each of the materials it took to make them. it all totaled out to $1.
While i was in the fitting room the store started closing. All the employees started moving everything against the wall including the cash registers and the rack of watermelons and sporting goods. I left the store amongst a large and steady group of people streaming outside. I waited for my father to come out but i did not see him. I heard someone call my name loudly and woke up. Most of my dreams tend to end with someone calling my name loudly. it's usually my mother but this time it was a man other than my father.

Is your father still alive? If so, what is your relationship with him like now?

If he has passed away, how long ago did that happen?

I grew up in Cleveland Oh but i moved to Maui about 3 years ago. I haven't been back to visit and my father hasn't come out here. We talk on the phone a lot and we don't have any arguments or anything like that.I'm planning on going home for a visit as soon as I get enough vacation time at my job. I don't think I ever want to live in Cleveland again.

It seems that the shorts cost more than they are worth.

Do you feel that you have given up something in your life and haven't gotten as much value from it as you expected?

Could it have something to do with your moving to Maui away from your family?
