manyrainydaze is on the dream path to enlightenment
Default Dreams (of course)

Hi My name is Rose I don't have a specific dream to speak of today, but I do have a question, all of my life I have had very vivid dreams. So vivid that I have had times as a child where I could not tell the difference between what was a memory and what was a dream, as a matter of fact my dreams seemed so much more real that the things I remembered being awake. The night before my first and only car accident I dreamed that I was in an accident, I dreamt of my child before I knew I was pregnant, when my nephew was in the hospital for 3 months I had an incredible sense of peace because I saw him almost every night for a month in my dreams, through the different stages in his life. Alot of people could say that these are just a coincidence. I think it could be more and that scares me. The only person that I have ever told about the later kind of dreams is my ex husband because I think everyone else would think that I am weird, blasphamous or just crazy, but now I would like to know how to be more involved in my dreams without being consumed by them. Can you help me?

Hi Rose, what do you mean by more involved with your dreams, do you mean trying to interpret them, take notice of them or delve deeper into the subject of dreams?

Yes that is exactly what I mean, but I have a life I don't want it to be something I am overly into (if that sentence sounds right) my mother is into signs and tarot cards and all that and I don't want to be one of those people who looks at everything and thinks of one thing. Am I making any sense?

I agree with not getting too swept away with dream interpretation, dreams are there to carry on thinking about your daily life whilst you sleep, they are concerned with your waking life so it makes sense not to lose track of your waking life.

You have to consider what is happening in your life to make sense of your dreams and, to a certain extent, vice versa. Dreams will still keep doing their job whether you look at them or not, it's just that you can speed up the process sometimes by paying attention to them. Just like you can get help from a psychiatrist; you may eventually come to terms with certain disturbing areas of your life on your own, but the doctor can help you reach that point quicker and, therefore, more painlessly.
