Newb's dream dilemma
I wouldnt have ever suspected to be posting on a forum such as this. But I had a dream two days ago that has bothered me since. I suppose it wasnt the dream as much as it was the real life events directly after I woke up.
My name is John and i'm a firefighter. January 8, 2012 at 7:20 a.m., I was asleep in my bed at the fire house and I had a dream of Nichole, a friend/co-worker from my part time job. In this dream I was sitting at a table in a local bar when I seen my friend Nichole sitting at a nearby table. So I take what seemed to be a wadded up napkin and toss it at her (as I sometimes do in real life) to get her attention. When she turned and seen me, I gave her a wave 'hello'. She gave a big smile and returned the wave. And that was the end of my dream as I was woken by our station 'tones' and the dispatcher's voice. The dispatcher called out 'structure fire, such and such address.' I recognized the address to be right next door to where Nichole lived. When our fire crew arrived on scene I realized that it was not the house next door, it was indeed Nicholes house that was on fire. Her car was in the driveway so I frantically called her cell phone to which she did not answer.
The fire investigators said they believed the fire to be burning for at least 20minutes before we arrived. Through experience, I could tell with the conditions of her house that there was very little chance of surviving. Nichole and her two girls, age 6 and 22 months, died in that house.
So now I'm drawn back to my dream. Was I trying to get her attention by tossing that napkin to just say 'hello' or was I trying to warn her of something? Was our 'hello' waves actually saying our last goodbyes?
Any comments or suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.
Rest in Peace Nichole, Maddy & little Brynn
