I keep having a reoccuring dream. In the first dream I dreamt that I was looking for my uncle (who is deceased). I found him on a hill overlooking the ocean.

In my next dream I dreamt that he gave me his house which was an old convict building but I knew that the second floor was haunted and that there was a dog in the attic. I had a feeling that the ghosts were my grandparents.

The third dream was about moving into the house and having the courage to visit the second floor. I did and the ghosts were my grandparents. I grew up believing that my grandparents were very hard and strict people there but they were really nice but wanted to be left alone.

Last night I dreamt that someone let the dog out of the attic. For some reason I thought that he would be friendly and tame but he wasn't. Then I was back at my parents house with my brothers and sisters and while there were lots of cars ablout I couldn't get one to go and chase the dog or to tell someone it has escaped.

I woke up and I felt really frightened. I got up but when I went back to bed I couldn't get the thought of the dream out of my head.

I have often dreamed about relatives who have died. For me, they are frightening because they are a reminder of my own mortality.

It's pretty normal to dream about people that have died, the unconscious mind often finds it difficult to differentiate between poeple that have died and people that are still alive - it will simply use their presence in your dreams to symbolize whatever feelings those people evoke in you. Also dreaming about houses, and different parts of a house is usually symbolic of yourself, with different rooms representing different parts of yourself.
