I'm in a two-story house overlooking tall grass. I see coming out of the trees a huge wolf sized fox. It's coming toward the house as I yell out a window upstairs "Shoo, go away!" It walk slowly toward the house and I think it may be rabid. Then I see what looks like 3 or 4 huge camel like creatures. They have brown shaggy fur with what looks like yellow tufts of baby corn stalks hanging off it. I hear a buzzing sound of a chainsaw and see my father outside sawing wood. I try to warn him of the animals. I think the buzzing may keep the animals away but then I realize my cat Freddie is outside and I fear the fox or one of the weird creatures will get him. I see Freddie in the grass and I run out to him and yell to my father again, but he doesn't hear because of the chainsaw. The fox and one of the camel creatures starts chasing Freddie and I yell, "Freddie, come here!" I manage to grab him by the fur in time and run back into the house. end.

Good ending, but what a frightening and bizarre dream!

It sounds like a possibly rabid fox coming through tall grass could be a warning about a hidden danger. Do the camel-like creatures remind you of anything--maybe a TV cartoon character or a stuffed toy you had as a child? You father keeping the animals away with the sound of his sawing could be something that is protecting you from this danger. Since you end up safe in the end, I think the dream is telling you that you that you have a problem, but you can solve it.

I agree. I liked the ending despite that the dream itself scared the crap out of me.

As for the camels

The only thing I can closely associate with them is the wooley mammoth, which is not extinct. I think of another dream I had that dealt with a fast moving flame through a corn field and everything was destroyed. Then I was back in the past to a time when women were the dominate sex and created their own "herstory."

This dream involving the camel creatures has the same ancient feel to it. Even though my dad and cat were present, the dream had an ancient, yet timeless quality to it. Strange.
