on saturday my sister told me she had dreamt something very bad , she dreamt that a friend of ours was brutally raped , she said that a van had drove through a house ( in the dream the house was my mothers home) and two men got out of the van and went through the front door , the door on the house was my front door (i have an antique very unusual front door), also she said that on the front of the house was a safe ? she couldnt figure that out . ...anyway the men got in=side the house and brutally raped this girl ,.
now the dream is over but my real life nightmare begins. i was home on saturday night alone and someone smashed my basement door in and came into my home while i was sleeping, i awoke to a noise outside my bedroom and got up to turn off the tv, later that night my son came home to realise we had been broken into , the people stole a safe from my home ...is this not the strangest thing you have ever heard? i believe i startled the theives when i got up ...does this usually happen where someone can actually dream something that is so real ? i am afraid this dream isnt finished and these men will come back . i am having a security alarm put in my house this week ....please someone tell me this is a coincidence ...lor...

I don't think your sister's dream and the incident you experienced are necessarily related. Your sister dreamed about a friend being raped; in real life, your house, not your sister's friend's, was broken into, and nobody was raped.

Your sister's dream about rape could symbolize her anxiety about something in life, or a feeling that she doesn't have control over something.

It's also possible that your sister noticed something about your home which made her feel that it could be unsafe, and that made her feel anxious, which brought on the rape dream. So the dream didn't directly predict the event, but your sister did notice the possibility that a break-in could happen.

In regard to something similar happening again--this isn't dream related, but I have heard that in real life, once your house has been robbed, you are more likely to be a target again, so you just take whatever precautions you can, such as installing a burglar alarm, to keep yourself safe.

yes my sister is always after me because i never lock my door! she is a bit of a control freak as well ! haha and the door was something she has never had control of , thankyou for your reply , it does make me feel so much better but i will certainly be taking all precautions to ensure this never happens again , it is very frightening> lor...
