Dream:

I'm in a strange bedroom and me and another woman are pulling the bed out from against the wall to vacuum behind it. A picture or wall hanging falls and the rug and wall are very dusty. A large, orange-cream colored spider scurries across the wall. On the opposite wall is a clump of small flying insects circling a light switch.

I think that spiders and insects can stand for a problem that is irritating you, if you think of them as irritating pests. Which is how I think you must feel about them, since you said they are icky.
