Hello I am new here, & I have to ask about this dream.

But I am not sure it was all a dream.

Let me start by saying recently I am under GREAT stress, My hsuband got a recent job offer that is almost hard to turn down, but we would have to move far away. Other stress issues but that is the main one.

Last night I was sleeping & in my dream I was looking at what I would call "Heaven". I immediately was awakened by this & Opened my eyes & I was in my bed, then I closed them & I was there again, I had to make a choice to go there & be free of all my stress & worries, or dont go. But of course I didnt want to go, I have chidlren & a family that I care for. I closed my eyes it was there, I opened them I was in bed. Happened quite a few times. But When I was just about to fall asleep again I would keep waking myself up because I was afraid I wasgoing to die.

I am so scared to go to sleep tongiht to have this "dream" again

Hi, I kind of know how you feel; I’ve had a dream about three times now that had the Grim Reaper in them, it was so real and scary and just like he was in the room with me. The first time I had it was a few years ago, I thought it meant that I was really ill or something and he’d come to get me – it sounds silly when you write it but it’s so real at the time. I had a similar dream about two weeks ago, only this time he was just sort of grasping at me with bony fingers and I pushed him away and woke up; I was too afraid go to the bathroom for ages because it felt like the presence was still in the room. I eventually dozed off for a bit and felt much better, properly realising it was only a dream. I think it was either last night or the night before when it nearly happened again, but I just told the feeling to get lost, even if the dream does come back I don’t care. I think, if you can, you have to just face it, tell it to go away or just run with it and see what happens. There’s only so much fright your brain will put up with, eventually it just becomes normal and repetitive – it might not even be that bad if you just let what happens happen.

It might be a good idea to see a counselor to help you deal with all the stress you are experiencing.

Thank you so much guys. Last nights sleep was much better. I am trying to get rid of some stress. Easier to say than done. But I am working on it.

My health insurance is horrible & Doesnt cover any Counceling or anything. Or I would gladly go. Its a bummer really.

I do have a lot of Odd dreams, but this one took the cake.

I know it sounds a bit of a cliche and hippyish, but meditating might help you a lot, it helps resolve some of your issues concerning stress whilst you are still awake and could help you sleep better.

You know, You are not the first to tell me that. I probably should consider this. But I wouldnt even know where to begin.

I'm sure you can find lots of information about meditation on the internet.

Thank you believe this to be "heaven" may be a symbol for you to say, "Ok, God [or the powers that be], I'm going to leave a few of these stressors in YOUR hands, because I know and believe that there are good things down the line."

And then give it up to Him, if you believe in God.

And of course, if not - then I guess meditation would be a great help!

I can and often do "fall back" into a dream. Even when they are somewhat frightening, I know it is a dream and just wish to find out where it is all leading me.

Perhaps you would want to have that happen, too - not because you're going to "die" and go to heaven, but because heaven's doors are opening to you and this is your chance to lay your troubles and concerns on another's shoulders.

Very interesting and I will be watching to see if you have further dreams of this nature.

I agree with Sunshine. It is OK to go to heaven in a dream because it is only a dream. You can go back to your stressful life in the morning.
