I don't know what the symbolism of the icy ground could be, other than you are not sure of yourself, and feel as if you are on "slippery" ground. Are there things going on in your life that are unsettling at this time?
That you sense a dichotomy between the Hispanic man's desire of the dog [religion versus need] indicates to me that you are open to other meanings in life - that you strive to know "why" you are doing something when you are asked to perform a task.
It would be most interesting to know how you felt when you woke up after this dream.

Wow! You're good! :P
Yes, I do sleep with a fan blowing on me. Perhaps I did incorporate the cool air on my person into the dream.
I read just a few days ago that the U.S. is looking into making new mines. Mines are barbaric and injure and kill mostly innocent people, especially children. I wish Princess Diana were still here. She'd get a lot of attention in speaking out against this! I feel the guy in the parka could be a symbol of U.S. foreign policy.
You hit the nail on the head with the slippery ice. I do feel I'm on slippery ground, unsure of my path at times. And yes, I do like to know the reasons I am asked to do things, and often ponder why things are the way they are.
Open to other things in life? You bet!
