Default Dreams about childhood sweetheart

For the past few months I have been having these reoccuring dreams about a long past childhood sweetheart (as in 20 years ago). I'm currently happily married. I do admit that I have thought of this other guy off and on throughout the years, more of an "I wonder what he's up to" kind of thing and feel we'll always be connected in some way. The dreams themselves are different, but the theme in all of them is a romantic one - we're interested in eachother, we're actually dating, etc.

Anyone have an opinion on what these dreams are trying to tell me? They happen almost every night for one week, then not at all the next and then again the next. It's quite odd.

I think this sentence sums it up really, "I wonder what he's up to"; like your subconscious is running through scenarios of what you might have done if things had been different. It's also a funny quirk of the mind that things you did a long time ago become clearer in your memory as you get older, so that some of your dreams that are in the past can be as real as when you were actually there. I'm not saying you are old by the way, I'm talking about memories that are older than 20 years or more - everything you ever did is in there somewhere, they'll always come back to you eventually.

It's one of the reasons I'm very fond of the Dalai Lama's proverb about always doing good things in your life, then as you get older you'll have nothing but nice things to remember and dream about.

Absolutely. When someone "pops up" out of the past, and if I think I know their circumstances well enough, I'll drop a note, as a friend. Just to let them know, "yes, you're not forgotten."

And Maljonic...I live by that rule! [Well, as best as a human can!]
