I am in a massiv big house where the hall-like rooms never seem to end; you could walk and walk without a stop. The rooms are filled with expensive antiques and belle époque furniture. The house is also filled with people I have never seen before. Some kind of releaxed party is going on. I have a beer bottle in my hand and sit on a sofa. Suddenly I realise that I have an erection. I put a beige jacket over my lap to hide it. I am quite bewildered by it since I am a woman, in the dream and in reality. I decide to test if I could make the erection go away just by focusing on something else. It works. Then I decide to test if I could make it return by thinking about something arousing. It also works. I put my hand inside the linning of my skirt to examine; and yes, I seem to have a perfectly normal penis which is aroused. I remember thinking that;"Well now I know what this feels like!" I also remember thinking that I should find a bathroom in the house to actually satisfy my need. Then I wake up.

Hi, the penis is often connected with fertitlity, power or agression and houses very often represent your self with the different rooms representing different aspects of your mind/soul. The deeper down rooms often signify your deeper, darker thoughts, while rooms at the top like the attic often represent your higher spiritual thinking. Other rooms can be more literal, like the kitchen can represent nuturing and sustanance and so on.

Anyway, I wonder if you are going through any kind of power struggles in your mind at the moment, if there is something connected to this in your life? Dreaming about being a man or a woman, or having male or female sexual organs, rarely means what one might suppose it would in a waking life context and is fairly common.

I am usually a "theme" dreamer and I always rembember what I dream. That is why I reacted to how different this dream is to the rest. In my regular dreams I always travel and look for hotels on a mini-budget OR travel/float half-wading in a warm and still ocean - holding on to a log, half-sunk boat or just swimming. I spend a lot of time peddling with my feet between islands. I always seem to be going somewhere and it is never an aimless "float".

It has occured that I dream of the hotelroom in detail or strange flats and I am aware of the representation of "self" by a house. My entire life is a "power struggle" and has always been so I cannot see any good reason why this dream should come now and only once. The "erection dream" was followed by another dream on the theme of soaking and playing in warm water - but this time in a public swimmingpool, which is a first. Normally I always swim in the ocean.

I am usually very good at interpretation of symbols, but these dreams feel random and a bit pointless. In a way I wonder if my erection dream just tells me to test new things, like "being a man" (being more forward or aggressive) or just anything new.

I believe that I have cracked the dream code on my erection-dream now. As Maljonic first said such a dream about opposite sexe genitalia/confusion of sexe could indicate a powerstruggle. At a first I could not think of anything but now I do.

In real life I have an on-going, constant power struggle between the intellectual knowledge that I must work less, slow down and relax, but I dare not 'cause I am scared to lose control and miss something. The "dreamers conclusion" is that "well, now I know how having an erection feels like" (a kind of "been there, done that" statement from my dream-self) and I think that it actually tells me to test something new. For instance to enjoy myself in a more relaxed way (the party in the dream) and to realise that I could alternate between an "erect" state and a relaxed state, just with will power. That there is no need for me to be on my toes all the time - I am still in control. The feeling and touching of my male organs in the dream is the indication that I should test new things (like being a man and thus more forward) and thereby learn more with less power loss.
