This is a first for me. I've never thought too much about dreams before and I usually forget about them within a few minutes of getting up. This one however has stuck with me all day. The dream was very long -- when I would wake up for any reason last night and then fall back asleep it's like the dream continued where it left off. Here goes...

Here's the short version. My dream started out with my being at a small concert. It was in a place similar to a bar so we were able to walk around and be near the stage. I met a man. We had some drinks and felt like we knew each other forever. That was about it for that part. A day goes by and he comes to see me. He has gone shopping and bought me a bunch of cute clothes. In our conversation at the bar I had mention I liked to go shopping. Then I get jewelry a few days later. It finally progresses to my going to his house which is decorated perfectly in a perfect neighborhood. He says it's for me. He had already put together a picture album for me with all my family in the new house. I question him about if he's ever been married before since it didn't look like typical male decorating. He says had never even thought about marriage until he met me and I'm all he's ever wanted.

Now I have to choose between my husband and this man. I'm sitting out front of our apartment (which is odd since we own a house) and this new man shows up. I invite him in and I go to unlock the door and the door won't unlock. The locks had already been changed. So I never get to choose, and this is where it ended.

The whole thing was really odd since I've been with my husband for 10 years. I've never cheated on him. In fact, he's the only man I've ever been with. I don't know who the man in my dream is. It's like I completely made him up. He didn't physically resemble anyone I know. And the locations aren't locations I've ever been to. They were completely made up also.

Help me... what does this all mean??

One explaination for the dream could be your marriage is in the doldrums and needs some added spark. Perhaps there is some special part of the male dream character you'd like to see in your husband, or possibly yourself. For example, the dream character showerd you with gifts. Do you feel a bit neglected lately?

Another explaination could be you feel you would like to have more choices in life, but feel stuck. The locked door at the end of the dream suggests this. How did you feel when the door wouldn't unlock? What do you think, or what would you have liked to have happened in the house if it did unlock?

Well, there's a duality to what you see in this dream:

1) First, this man could just be - lover - not your lover specifically, but rather a lover of you. Someone who loves you in spirit. He offers you gifts that are exceedingly valuable as you progress. This is referring to God and the grace of God - as you progress spiritually, you're given different gifts. Clothes are how you present yourself, they're not literally clothes but what you wear in spirit - he's given you many options. They're attributes of the spirit - like love, happiness, faith, understanding, etc.

The second gift is jewelry, or stones - In one part of Revelations, it talks about being given a stone with a new name in it. (Also makes sense in context of the new boyfriend). In marriage, you're also given a new name.

Then you are given a new house, or that which contains you in spirit is made perfectly the way you want it.

Then, he tells you how much he loves you. You're not just like anyone who comes along, but you're special.

You had to choose between the physical love and the spiritual love. The apartment just indicates that there are others in a similar place as you, but you are blocking that from the spirit. The lock symbolizes that you HAVE chosen. You're blocking out the physical for what is spiritually needed in your life.

I think that's a wise choice.

2) With the duality of dreams, it could also indicate that you're mind is on to many material things and you're sorta being chastised for that , or being shown that the gifts you can obtain sometimes don't come with a price tag. If you're only on a deserted island, would you rather meet someone with greedy with money, or someone generous but poor.

Unless Teacher is a very religious person in waking life, there is very little reason to think that this dream has anything to do with religion.
