Hello,
I joined this board tonight in hopes that someone somewhere can help me. I have been having dreams since I was about 5 years old that come true.

Mostly things that seem insignificant at the time or just no reasonable way of coming true--(dreams)--about various things like places or specific events. I'll give you some examples:

When my husband was preparing for surgery, I had a dream that a woman named Valerie came to see him (in my dream he disappeared with her). I have never known anyone named Valerie in my life and never knew of him knowing anyone by that name. When I woke up that morning of the surgery, I looked straight at him and asked him "who is Valerie" and he just gave me this puzzled look and said he didn't know! Later that day after his surgery, his brother came by to see him and told him he'd just ran into a girl they went to school with years and years ago and she was going to come by and see him since she worked at the hospital. Her name was Valerie! My husband looked at me like a was a witch or something.

Several months ago I had this dream more than once: I am on a train (subway type) and then, I end up in an airplane. Sometime after the plane, I get on another train but oddly enough, (and I never knew these existed!) I was on a sky train (a sky rail).

Well, just recently my husband and I took a cruise-we took AirTran and this was MY FIRST TIME FLYING and we got on a subway type train to go to the terminal (which I knew nothing about these types of trains beforehand. I thought you just went to the airport and walked thru some connector to get on the plane). Okay, here is the kicker: Tonight I am watching "Dark Water" and guess what the mom and daughter are riding on? A sky rail! How could I have dreamed about something that I didn't even know existed? I don't understand!

This is getting very creepy for me. I have dreamed about a place I was going to work at two or three years beforehand, I dreamed my grandfather was going to die AND how he died AND how my mother would wake me up and tell me. I was a very young girl then. I am just totally weirded out. I have always been told by my mother that this is some kind of rare "gift" but this isn't something I want. Does anyone know how to stop this sort of thing? I find it terribly unsettling. Any advice or insight would be helpful.

I think that these things seem to happen sometimes because the information is in your subconscious, so even though you think you don't know about something in waking life your subconscious has made a note of certain events and possible outcomes that it plays out in your dreams.

Some people do think though that there is Synchronicity going on in the universe, like your husband's old friend showing up at the same time you dreamt about her name.

Thank you very much for telling me that. It does make some kind of sense of it all. I guess I shouldn't be so worried about it. I must say though I go thru these "periods" of dreaming about more vivid and important things and this seems to be one of those times, as I dreamt recently I was dying. Metamorphically speaking I think it is because I have adopted a new attitude towards dealing with my children and today I put it in motion. Not only get I do what I felt was right, I didn't get the response I normally did in the past, it went a lot better. I can only hope! Thanks again.

I have been experiencing the very same thing, and I am not even twenty yet. I dreamt how my ex boyfriend cheated on me before it happened. My current boyfriend and I have deja vu, because everything we experience is dreamt long before it happens. He and I are very close and the things that go on between us are dreams I have already had that happened over ten years ago.
I take the strangeness and peculiarity as a blessing.
