I'm living in a cute apartment that's cluttered with a kingsized mattress on the floor and worn clothes thrown about. I am dating my old friend Richard (before he contraced HIV) and we are laying around talking and necking.

Then I leave for outdoors where there is a softball game playing on a school playground and people are also tossing straw hats around and I join in.

Now I'm in a gym where I observe a conversation between two women. One woman is telling the other that the man the other one likes is really dangerous and has proof. The first woman doesn't want to believe it and leaves upset. I follow her into an elevator where a man shows and up and begins to embrace the woman and she backs away. I learn that it is the boyfriend that her friend warned her about. The elevator goes dark and the woman lets out a loud scream and I wake up with a jolt.

How was the apartment cute, I'm trying to picture it? The thread title makes me smile, would be a nice story title.

The apartment had a cute "feel" to it in the dream, but it was mostly nondescript.

As I read it now, I see the contrast between cozy and dangerous--being in the company of a friend in a safe place, to being trapped in a dangerous situation.

I think what inspired this dream was that there was a rape and attempted murder just 2 miles down the road from where I live. This is considered a safe neighborhood. Or was...
